Hi all,
I'm from Poole in Dorset, anyone else near to me?
I used to have a BMW 1150GSA before the K100 and i wish i got one sooner.
I got her about 10 days ago with just over 10,500 miles on the clock, not bad for a 25 year old bike!
I've already put nearly 200 big grin miles on the clock.

I look forward to chatting with you all, i'm sure i'll be asking for some kind of help soon Smile
Here is a pic of my bike.

Hi Sopwith Camel,
Lovely bike, it's just like new!
At that mileage it shouldn't need much work, but a spline lube would be advised.
Cheers,
Paul.

Hi Sopwith Camel,

What is going on? Is BMW starting to sell K100rs again?
This bike looks like it's new out of the crate. Please tell us where we can find them.

Welcome to the forum.

CF

Welcome to the forum Mr Camel. Now others are saying it's like new but I disagree because I know that they were never that shiney from new.

Welcome to the forum Sopwith Camel (are you a Biggles fan by the way?) I am reasonably local to you in Cornwall and we often ride up into Dorset to visit West Bay etc. My sister lives in Morecombelake so not far from you I guess. That bike looks to be almost brand new as others have already commented and also very low mileage - nowhere near even run in yet! I also run an online forum @ Westcountry Rideouts and we have members all over the south west region (Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Hampshire etc.) please feel free to take a look and maybe join up with us for bike related info in the region.

You have stumbled upon the most valuable resource on the internet here to keep the "K" bike running in tip top order - every question you can think of and then some have probably already been addressed on this wonderful site thanks to crazy frog and the dedicated team of BMW experts that choose to share their knowledge with the rest of us.

Ride safe out there

Hi sopwith Camel,

Welcome to an excellent K forum - from another UK resident.

That's one good looking K you've managed to get your hands on.

Years ago, when I worked for Plessey Telecomms, I spent months in Poole in our R&D plant in Sopers Lane.

I used to commute on my R100RS from Cambridgeshire early Monday mornings, returning Friday night. That early morning ride in the summer was a blast! (Still got the RS).

So why "Sopwith Camel" ? A truly wonderful WW1 bi-plane (flown by Biggles) in Capt W.E. Johns series' of books that I loved as a child - just curious is all ? Wink
