Hi all,

Took the K12 out for a two pub ride and took a few some footage to see how the miniDV camera worked when mounted inside the helmet behind the visor.

here is a short clip I took in Picton. Picton is a small place about 1 hr south of Sydney and is well known to bikers for the pub and a Skydiving center near by.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH4EXOHhRRI&feature=youtu.be

Also a few pics of a good lunch time crowd at the pub.
The middle of the three red bikes is mine.

An interesting collection of bikes. What exactly are you riding there? Didn't get a proper look.
And....who was the band?

Good shots Ned
if you are planning that trip again give me a shout I'm an hour south and like the ride up to picton.
We were all the girls?, there is supposed to be girls. (or in my case sprightly young 60 year olds).

Hi all,
Yes it was a very nice day. Mid winter 20dec C and sunny. I think Sydney can turn on the weather from time to time. Sunday was fantastic just as Saturday. I'll post a few more videos from this day, just to show off the countryside to our overseas friends.

Saxon: I was riding my K12 ... here she is Smile

Short ride to Picton, NSW DSC04697

88KE: On the camera thing: still is just my mobile phone 8MB camera... it works well for quick happy snaps Smile
Video is a miniDV spy camera from Hong Kong... under $20 delivered... here is a good review link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TFnMDW92iI

It clips to my internal lining of the helmet and with a visor down you can be heard over the wind and exhaust noise. In reality it is a computer video cam repackaged. It is a bit fiddly, but u only have to press 2 buttons to get it working, so it is not problem.

RT, yes, I often go in that direction, Albion Park, Robertson, W'gong, so it will be a pleasure to meet with u for a ride. Smile The weather is becoming optimal for riding, before it gets too hot, I am likely to be out often.

A collection of usual HD garrage queens, a bunch of Golwings and a collection of sports bikes... one shot has a Hayabusa on the way in. My girl is red and is centre stage between a red Ducati cross and a Honda with me spoiling the shot.

The band? a local outfit that plays in that pub every Sunday. The singer is not a half bad looking blues/country singer Smile

Yes I remember that K1200 on ebay. I was contemplating buying it and came on the forum and there was Ned telling of this gread deal he just got.
I would be very good at procrastinating if I could get round to it.

The guy who sold it to me was a great character. Smile He rode the bike from Albury to Sydney to deliver (yes, around 550km) for $100 and tossed in the top box into the deal.

BTW thank you for not bidding Rick Smile

I've got one of the wee cameras Ned but the results are nowhere near as good - it always looks grainy. Maybe it's better suit to sunshine than grey skies!!
Good stuff. 88

Hmmm... yes, almost everything works better in a brilliant sunshine, including people like me.Smile

But having done both trips, I can tell you that the camera works fine in a cloudy setting as well, probably better as it does not have to deal with the "dynamic" range of shade/sun exposure. Lenses are of a computer cam quality, and the electronics nit very fast so it is all a bit jumpy and smeary.

For educational purposes only (yeah right)... here is how the tiny camera deals with fast changing light at speed Smile

Location is Stanwell Park - Bald Hill lookout
I start from the beach front and climb up the escarpment to a rather spectacular lookout at Bald Hill. It is a common gathering point for riders before they start south down the coast or north through the national park.
