Australia is known as the land "Down Under" and for good reason. We in the forum are in one large family, but slowly a family secret is emerging. Many of the members are letting their guards down and letting out more information about themselves, christian names are commonly known.
Alright, here is the greatest secret, finally out in the open.....RT, who owns a RT wants people to know that his first name is Bob. Few people know that his other name is Down. He lives a fair way inland because as a young bloke he could not swim and almost drowned a number of times. Blakey, or Neil is RT's brother, another Down who moved to Queensland as he heard the call of religion and Queensland had many, many bad people to convert. My first name is Stan, Stan Down. I had to stay in the background all the time as I am much taller than my two brothers and they didn't like me being too close to them.
Now the black sheep of the family is that hussy sister of ours, Ida.She spends many nights in bed with some of K riders.....supposedly to keep them warm....oh yeah.
It is up to you to look down on the Downs. We are brothers...and proud of it.

Bit early there to be downing the sauce, isn't it, Ainsjac? But with all the sheep we have (some of whom may be named Daisey) Down Under, perhaps Woolite would be more appropriate grog.

That is OK Bob, the truth does hurt. The baddest name I have come across for naming a kid was Shaun Lamb. What were the parents thinking? Also Rodney Knee....thought the kid was stuttering every time he had tell me his name....nervous reaction.

I once worked with an old school mechanic who was larger than normal and had very hairy knuckles and mit-sized hands. No one dared to say anything to him because he was trigger happy with his fists. His name was Richard Blow, and he actually went by the diminutive of Dick. He got sacked from the VW/BMW shop I worked in one day by the service manager because in his frustration he took a softblow hammer to the mudguard of the Jetta he was doing a brake job on, mumbling something about rusty nuts. Good thing we had a panel shop on location because the customer was waiting in the lounge and never knew a thing about the newly sprayed replacement mudguard (fender) on his red car...

I went to high school with the son of a family whose occupation was the local undertaker, and they were known as the Underhills. They called the kid Doug. He eventually inherited the business. The main burial plot in that country town was on the side of a steep hill.

I bet Doug used to dig the graves and Phil used to fill them up. Never play golf with an undertaker....he is sure to be on top at the last hole.

When I was courting my wife the next door neighbours were a friendly Nigerian family name of Ambo who called their son Simon, imagine going through life signing cheques S.Ambo. The American writer Sher Hite must have had parents who didn't think that through too well. Was at school with a Wayne Kerr, some parents do not think before they name.
Regards,
