I'm looking for a new slipstream deflector (Part number 46631453174). Mine has yellowed and I've wet sanded with 600 and then 1000 grit for about 3 hours. It is a little less yellow but not clear enough to use. Is it possible that it has yellowed all the way through?

I found one at a BMW dealer (their website says they have it in stock anyway) for $75.00 plus shipping. Just wondering if anyone knows of a less expensive option. Call me cheap

I've looked at other posts on here with some suggestions for aftermarket windscreens, but this is for the European version and I really like it looks and effectiveness.

Thoughts?

I've also heard of some guys using "toothpaste"on their screens. Not that I've tried it though.

Some sort of mild abrasive, I suppose.
I can say though, that Brasso is more effective than Silvo...
It's true.
Actually, I don't think $75 is so outrageously expensive.
I was watching a Staintune muffler on Ebay here...it went for $272.78.
I bought a screen for my RT on Ebay awhile ago...paid $30 ( One will come up if you're patient)
Fact is though, I had to go out and buy some Brasso to clean it up properly.
It looked ok in the photos!
Sean.

Going to give Brasso a try and if that doesn't work then the Motorworks link will come in handy.

Thank you!

Don't be afraid to go hard on it wngutmv. It is strong material. I did a before'n'after . I think you'll find some other posts on polishing if you search the forum. You will need to cut it back a good bit to see if the yellow UV damage is gone all the way in, so a buffer wheel etc would be an advantage. The lip is the hardest to do mechanically because of the shape but on mine it actually cleaned up the best.

As some of the RS's have a black screen and deflector, I've been thinking about painting them blue on my solo RS.

Has anyone tried painting them?

Paul.
