I happened upon a K1100 centrestand/sidestand from Fleabay for...20 dollars! SCORE!

The RS is at the back of the house under the pergola...looking miserable!

Thanks for the offer of the sidestand though.

I think the crash bar holes are lower but I will lay bets that it covers some sort of mess on one side or the other.

Many, many thanks for helping me with the exhaust fix and refit.

Just to clarify Charlie's statement, "Barge Arse" refers to the bike...not me.

blaKey,

I really like your Unicoil solution.

I never seen this product before, but I will try to find a distributor here in Canada.

Do you have any idea of the size of the maximum bend? (How sharply can you bend the hose without having a kink?)

If you have to remove the fuel tank on a RT, you have to remove part of the fairing to gain access to the fuel lines. (Yes you even have to remove the glove box).
The idea is to install longer hoses going toward the back of the fairing and split them with a hose joiner. This way the tank could be pulled off by just removing the left knee pad on the fairing.

Here is what I want to accomplish and the Unicoil would be perfect to keep a nice bend in the fuel lines:

Pretty much the angle you see pictured is the limit. I believe the thicker the hose, the less angle that you can achieve.

I'll PM you.

just back from blakeys again

we installed some relays for the future big headight out front on "barge arse "

a little twist in the way we fitted them up as this thing will be kinda naked

blakey wanted the wiring colours replicated for future problem solving

no problem

My recently purchased RT (do NOT look here for inspiration!) - Page 2 2013-026

we made a bracket to carry a couple of scavenged relay cradles out of an old bmw . and miss the other relays onboard

My recently purchased RT (do NOT look here for inspiration!) - Page 2 2013-027

some seriously large cables to make it all work ....before soldering and heat shrink

final fitting of the bracket before height adjustment ( to clear the lid ) and the bmu etc

final finish ....looking good

Top job Charlie. This would've taken me a month of Sundays to do.

Charlie arrived with his box of tricks...cut this, soldered that, measured, snipped and joined wires left, right and centre.

I'm very happy with the results!

What bars are on there?

They are going to make a difference to how much you like the ride.
I can't ride with RS bars and the RT bars on a naked feel a bit silly sitting up straight and having the wind hit you square on.
My /2 has plain old K100 bars, bit between RS & RT. Love em.
A bit forward, but not so much all the weight is on your arms.

so HERE are a pair of I believe C bars in the UK
Just measured my bars. RT are 27" and the K100 are 25"
Seems to me to be C bars

Now no fighting you two. Play nice.
I did after all post on Mr Blakes thread.

Just realised the sale ended. Maybe he did not sell them?
Maybe we can combine the postage on Centre Stand for me

Sent the guy an email and his reply is

Dear gallagher

Ah you have one of those black holes too huh. I reckon mine must be almost full by now.
I had been thinking for some time that my 10mm ring OE had gone there along with a very expensive set of feeler gauges but found them yesterday cilnging desperately to the magnets on my tank bag, after I had replaced them of course.

I took it for a spin around the block and the feeling of the wind hitting me instead of the fairing takes me back to my early biking days. Love it...until the first time it rains!

New handlebars are on order. Mirrors too.

Just a couple of things to fix and all will be sweet. Oh, I'll be painting it red.

There is a reason why I'm painting it red...but I'm not telling.
