Is it just me or does anyone have that thought that says : Why so few miles? ... that is less than 400 / year!
I guess that that would be like 5 rides to my favourite pub SmileSmile

I guess that I just don't get it.

yes Ned,

I think that happens more often that one would think. It is quite possible that my wife will try her new bike, then decide that it is too scarey. A fellow who has the means, gets the bug goes to the dealer, impulse buys the bike. He then takes it out and feels wobbly, unsure of himself, has a bad scare, has a child, gets married, gets old. And the bike sits. I have seen this in sailboats and motorcycles where good intentions just end up stored in the garage.

A friend of mine showed me a photo of a 1949 green original Harley Davidson panhead, with 19,000 miles on it. Worth around $50,000 today, because the owner's wife got pregnant and they parked it until he died 62 years later. He knew the woman and he paid $5000 this last Oct. 100point bike.

Here in metropolitan areas this happens to 3 - 5% of all bikes. I know this is hard for K riders to fathom, and it is worth researching. For those folks thinking about buying we have a few more weeks of winter mentality and the spring bike fever will return until next Oct. I have always purchased my summer toys during the desperation of the holidays. And I always sell them during the onset of spring fever, in March and April (on this side of the nut).

Well what a trip 2000 miles with the pick up truck, to pick up wife's bike. It was 68 degrees yesterday in Texas, when I met the soldier boys at Ft Hood. 10 degrees and salty here in Chicago. All the parts were there. The battery was wrong. Some little 3" wide by 5" tall by 6" long moped battery with a piece of wood wedged above the bracket. That may be why it doesn't start. I can see now how bad the rear brake resevoir is. I will shatter if I stare at it so I didn't look at it, just a peek. My wife and I unloaded the bike by ourselves. Great trip, I will post some photos after a nap.

This does happen. I bought Lazyboy new in Dec 84 but also had a 82 R100RS 2X R50'S and a Suzuki Katana. In 2004 moved into a Retirement Village and due to space sold all the other bikes and kept the K100RT which was then 20yrs old and only had 15000Km on the clock so if I had kept the other bikes she MIGHT now only have done 30,000KM At the moment she has got 122,000KM on the clock.

Oops I posted to the wrong thread. I bought her a 1987 K75s Silver bluish with 9400 miles from Texas.

Sorry for the mix up.

BV Froggy,

yes thanks, We got her a super low mileage (but not running properly) K75s 1987 which has a badly sun damaged square style rear Resevoir. It still works but will shatter if I look at it. I would buy a RBResevoir from you if it is sturdy and clean.
