Has anyone experience with THESE?

Noticed them on the K75 with the chair on ebay.

Seems a quick and easy fit for a naked bike when weather is cold or wet.

is that to hide the bird your giving to other road users..
they really start adding an offroad look to your bike,
I think the recent K-tm outfit might have also been fitted with them.

Next thing you know , Rossco will be asking what knobbly's to fit on his basic..
better get a set for Col, good to hear you're improving mate, you'll soon be cutting up steaks again.

I've not used them but they do look good, didn't realise Bins had em, added on my list. I do find that some gloves are not what the sellers say they are on an unfaired bike, too late then though.

The K75S I bought last year came with them fitted. They were the first thing I removed (and gave them away).

Hand protector kit K75S%20002-L

Having owned a few GS models that these handshields are based on, I can say that they do what they are intended to do, protect your hands from branches etc when off-road. They might provide some weather protection but not enough to warrant the money.

For about the same price, Turcano Muffs do a far better job. I used to have a pair on my old K75C in the winter. They might not look pretty but there's a lot to be said for being able to wear summer gloves all year.

Plus they take a lot less time to fit and remove than handshields.

no need on the RS...the mirrors (that only show your elbows) and heated grips keep my hands warm enough to wear summer gloves most of the year...but to be fair our winters can be similar to other peoples spring or autumn....

Hi MikeP. I have a 94 K75 base model and am intending to fit a pair of these, Motobins pt no 61359, 91GS onwards. Bins seem to think they will not fit but look identical to the items you had.  Can you remember if they had been chopped about to fit or not? John

That's them. To be honest I don't recall them having been modified and the bloke I gave them to has them on his K100.

Spooky or what? I've just opened a package containing another pair of Tucano Muffs that I'll use on my K1100R (if it makes to the road).

The hand guards are really not up to much in terms of weather protection, they're meant to be brush guards to protect the rider's knuckles from twigs and such and why they're aimed at the GS.

Cheaper than the handshields too>

Spot on Mike. I used a similar thing years ago on an R80RT and they did help to keep off some of the rain and cold wind first thing in a morning on my 18 mile commute. I have heated grips but whilst the palms of my hands remain warm my figure ends don't. I do use mitts for the cold weather but there not the best for gripping the clutch and brake levers. John

While the muffs don't look particularly nice, they do work really well, turn on your grips and you'll never need anything but summer gloves all winter.
