Well you see something new every day with these bikes.

Comfort linings that go on the outside of the fairings and over the mirrors by the looks.

For our non German reading friends, here is one I prepared earlier.

Comfort lining broadening of the panel K75RT BMW K 100 RT K 75 K100RT

Comfort panel
BMW K 75 K 100 (K 1100)
RT / LT
You buy the widening of the normal lining with attachments.
The package is visible in the second image.
The normal panel and the motorcycle are not selling component. Figure 1 shows the possible application

Might be worth having in cold climates but of doubtful value here but I would like to know where to get one of those screens.

Tall one for your 1100 here Rick.

I've had a couple of those on watch for a while Rossco. Ideally use it for winter months and ditch it in summer. I reckon one would be good below 5c. Considering they are all off ex police bikes they fetch strong money. I believe they are fixed by screws from the outside which would leave holes in the fairing so that's putting me off.

What I was looking at was the curve at the top of the screen. I dont want it higher but that bit of curve may cut back the noise from my helmet a bit more. I much prefer to look over than through the screen.

Hey Rick, check out Screens for bikes in Melbourne, he did my short as summer screen and he'll be able to do something for you.
Mine was only $140.

No need to post this as he will be in Narrandera, but I will anyway.

That looks a lot like Ainsjacs screen he had made for the mandarin his RT with the little flaired bits on the side.

I am thinking that they could be useful in the winter.... I wonder if they come off easily for the summer months

Rick,

When the electric screen rises, the angle of the shield is changing. (Nothing new)
You should try to put spacers to modify the original angle of the windshield.
You would be surprised on how a couple of degrees difference change the noise in the windshield. (it doesn't cost anything to try it)
After experimenting with it, I bought a taller screen and cut it to fit my height. I believe that it's now about an inch taller than the original, but when raised to come just under my line of sight, I just get the right amount of air in my face and the noise is greatly reduced. (Most of the time, I ride with my helmet shield up.)
Because the brackets are not rising as much as before, the screen stays in a more slanted position.

Thanks Bert I'll try that. I am up for a new screen soon and have been checking them out.
When I got the bike the antiscratch coating was flaking off and I gave it a bit of help and then gave it a good polish but it doesn't last long regardless of what I use. The best seems to be turtle wax polish but I think it's getting slower because of that Very Happy

I like your thinking on the spacers Bert. I'm going to try that too.
