It is coming to the foggy time of the year. What do the esteemed members of this forum recommend for keeping shields free of fog. I have an HJC Sy-Max 2 helmet and used a fog city anti-fog insert two years ago (http://www.fogcitysolutions.com/). The fog city insert is an adhesive clear plastic impregnanted with some anti-fog chemical. It sticks on the inside of the face shield. Worked well but had now lost its anti-fogness. I would have to order a new fog-city insert from the US so thought I would see what others use before I buy something.

Let the suggestions begin Very Happy

I've tried all sorts of things in the past 40 years. The best thing was the BMW System II fitted with a heated visor (but the elements were fragile). Now it's an anti-fog visor. Apart from that just clean and a decent polish seemed to be the best - all that does is encourage the moisture to bead and run off the surface.

A Fog City shield lost its effectiveness?  I've used those for decades and never know one to fail yet.  You must have exposed it to some really strange stuff to cause it to fog.
Did you clean it with something unusual?  Never clean it at all? 😕

A new clear visor equipped with pins to attach a Pinlock anti-fog visor inside the shield. I have them on my HJC, Shoei and Arai. You can sit at a traffic light with the visor fully closed while it rains and have a good old fashioned perve to your heart's content at the long lovely legs crossing the road. Your visor will not fog. But your head may be in a cloud.

Yes, I agree with TWB, Pinlocks are the way to go.

Although I also loved the BMW system 2 heated visors back in those far off days.

Paul.
