My left signal works fine. My right causes both sides to flash together but very slightly not at the same time (as hazzard lights would) if that makes sense? It was an intermittent fault for a while, but now it is a permanent one. About to start trouble shooting...I am a bit rubbish with electrics, but I am poised with multimeter in hand! Any tips gratefully received!

Check fuse #7 if it is blown or not conducting it will cause that problem.  Don't just look at it check it with a meter or just replace all the fuses, I often see problems with the older blade type fuses going highresistance and not conducting but looking OK.
The other osssibility is that the starter brushes need changing as they supply an earth when the starter is not being used.

I have ordered the parts to clean and rebuild the starter motor. Fairly cheap as it happens! I see there are extensive instructions in the "How to do" section so that will be my next port of call!

Cleaned and replaced the brushes on the starter. Def improved the starting experience, but no change on the signal front! Fuses all correct and working. Must be something specific to the right side? Flasher unit would not be at fault coz the symptoms would be evident on both sides, yeah? I might dig it out and clean up the contacts anyway.....

So...as it stands...left hand signals and cancel are fine. Right hand signal causes a hazzard warning pattern, but not always in phase...just mostly! This means;
1) Fuses are working, or both sides would be affected(?)
2) Power is reaching all the relevant components
3) The problem must be specific to the right hand side...switch or wire/earth.
4) Flasher relay must be OK as it works on the left hand side, and hazzard warning as normal.
So my next investigation is the right hand switch. Am I heading in the right direction here?
Thanks!

Possibly...I have done the starter brushes, so its not them. Failing that, there are no other electrical issues anywhere, so it must be an earth which is specific to the right hand side. I'm gonna attack the switch next to eliminate that from the list!

The right-hand switch gear has it's own earth lead. Look for the thin lead that should be screwed into the underside, it runs back to the main earth on the centre frame spar under the tank.

Yes, Mike, that earth lead was the subject of an early recall, if I remember rightly, as some of the first bikes without the lead, found an earth route through the throttle cable.

Paul.

Rolling Eyes I have removed and cleaned the right hand switch gear. All functioning well, and I checked the continuity along the relevant wires. All good! I will have to take the tank off to get to the earths on the frame. That's the next job!
I took out the flasher relay and had a look under the cover, but that all looked in order as well; the relays were opening and closing as they should, although this obviously does not guarantee reliability. However, it functions on the left side as do the hazzards, so its not drawing my attention too much.
I will soldier on!!
Thanks for all the info so far!

Finally tumbled the mystery of the right signal fault!
A few months ago, my battery failed, so I took the Oddessy P630 off my old R65 that is "resting" at the moment. It is smaller in dimensions than the battery which came out, so the plate which rests on the battery top and fastens it to the battery tray sits lower down on the Oddessy. As well as this, the terminals are different on the Oddessy. All fitted in and worked however...or so I thought! The plate on top was slightly touching the earth side of the battery. This was enough to cause the afore mentioned problem, and no other!!! I popped a couple of pieces of rubber over each terminal, and bingo....back in the game...finally!!!
At least all my earths are inspected and cleaned, various connections also, and much better starting after replacing the brushes.
Thanks for all the guidance and advice!
