Greetings all. Just picked up a '90 K100RS yesterday, and it snowed today. I have been looking for a BMW for several years as I am getting too long in the tooth to be rattling around Alberta on my 30 yr old HD. I rode the Bimmer home from where I bought it and I had THE most comfortable motorcycle ride of my life. And even though it was only 3degC outside, the fairing kept the wind chill off me. Most amazing.

Welcome to the forum.

If you think that fairing was good wait till you try the RT or LT.

But you are right about it being a very comfortable ride. I did a 140 mile trip in -1c and when I got home my fingers were warm to the touch, in fact everyone was amazed I was so warm. No heated grips either. But warm air from around the engine does a great job!!

Now you have to meet some buddies for a few rides. While you are doing this go to the portal here and look at the section you have just bought a K. Some good hints in it.

Thanks much! There is a great deal of good info there. A question about these forums though, where is the download section?  I was looking for the pdf manuals that are there.

Hi There,
Great to have you with us a lovely looking bike looks the same model and year as mine, the RS fairing is great, it was one of the earliest fairings designed in a wind tunnel at Pininfarina I believe.

welcome, congrats on the beemer, i too find the fairing very good indeed ,i must admit that ive tried an aeroflow screen to snap on the standard fairing , but since i am 1,92m i got a lot of turbulense around the helmet, so now i have decided to sell it and just go with the standard fairing ,
back too the subject ,Very Happy i hope you can get a few rides before Winter kicks in ?

Welcome. Do you have heated grips? If not, a good add-on in your climate I would think? Can be done; aftermarket or OEM.
