I just picked up a 1983 K100 as a retirement project.  It idles rough and the previous owner said that it needs a valve adjustment so I will be spending the next little while working on it with the help of a neighbour who is a certified vintage BMW mechanic.  My previous bike was a 1979 XS650 so this is a big step up.

You're having a certified mechanic help you?

Where's the challenge in that?

(Just kidding.)

Welcome to K100 land.....

Welcome to the forum. You sure will find an enormous difference to a XJS yammie

Welcome to the forum from another newby k-100 owner in Maple Ridge. I'm in the process of complete teardown inspection and am so far thrilled with the condition of the "guts" that I have checked so far. I plan to be on the road by May and hope to see you and other local owners.
Cheers,
Rob
p.s. for you other worlders it's raining 50mm a day right now with a week to go so it's a good time to be in the garage
