I know there's a thread here somewhere discussing this but I cant find it for the life of me.

Just a reminder the rally is on 7-9 Feb, it's the 37th, the second longest running motorcycle rally in OZ.
Location is Frying Pan Creek campsite in the Chichester State Forest NSW, access from Dungog via one of two roads. You can get directions at the Bank Hotel or follow someone out from there. Approx 14kms of dirt road either way.
Basic BBQ type catering from Sat PM till Sun AM (brekkie included in the rally entry), softdrinks, tea, coffee available.  Any other supplies you'll need to bring out yourself
Swimming, firewood, toilets etc.
It's in a rainforest, there is a good chance of some(even total) precipitation over the weekend.

Plenty room for a K Kamp

I'll be there Friday PM sometime, riding up the Putty.

I am picking up some panniers from Klompy's place and will be going up the putty early Friday (that is sometime before midday) so we could arrange something.

Could do that, that's about our timing too.  We do always leave sometime in the morning, usually no specific time.

Probably meet at Windsor or at the Grey Gums (morning tea and let the dogs run there)

I'll be going down Thunderbolt's on the Friday. Will have a leisurely ride and lunch at Gloucester etc, throw up a tent on Friday arvo and start drinking jägermeister writing lamentable odes to a grecian urn before getting to bed shortly after dark` and waking fresh the next morning for church.

I've got a set here you can add some training wheels to Rossko. They are pre-scratched.

I can probably find some nice castor wheels for you Rossco.....although a naked should be easier to manhandle.....by the way who would we contact to book into the rally....should I be able to get away???

No need to prebook at all Klompy.  If you can get away, just turn up and you'll be welcomed.

I'll be going along!  I'd planned on going up on the Friday this year, but I started a new job last week (Holy stuff, 10km compared to 80km (12 mins compared to 1hr30!) each way, it's made SUCH a difference!), and had two days off this week while the Missus was in hospital, so I think I'd be really pushing things a bit far if I asked for the Friday of the Rally off too :-p

Will go up Saturday instead, though thinking I might go separately from Hurricane Furchert for once, just so I can enjoy the relaxation of the ride

May leave early Saturday visit for a bit and head home Saturday Arvo....its not that far really...I really do not like camping...have been tactical camping for decades and am over the hard ground...not getting any younger you know. 

*grin* You sound like my missus.. When *I* go camping, it's a thick moon mat on the ground.  When the missus and I go camping, we have a double-height queen-size air mattress.  AND she takes a sheepskin underlay to put on top!@#!  Though I will admit, it is comfy!  

Crap, that reminds me, I was going to sort out a larger tent!  Fitting me AND my cpap machine into my little black wolf hiking tent makes it rather tight!

Hey Al, do many get there Friday arvo?  Apparently we're allowed to take our leave a few hours at a time, so I'm thinking of knocking off at 3 on the Friday, and heading up to get there about 5:30 on the Friday, so I can have a relaxing Saturday.

There's usually a good bunch of people there on the Friday/Friday night.  Mostly they arrive late in the afternoon. Probably 20-30 depending on the weather.  Marie and I are always there Fri night.  Its a good night for the swimming hole too.

Rob, the organizer says enquiries are very high this year. He thinks there will likely be a big turnout this year (its always weather dependant).  Indications are that the 2 dirt roads out to the rally are in very good condition.  We also have the showground booked as a standby in case anything stops us from using the Frying Pan Ck campsite(eg heavy rain or a fire) we do this every year.

Woo, my manager approved my leaving early, so I'll be there friday night!  I assume we cater ourselves on friday night/saturday morning/lunch?

Yep, Friday night/Sat morning you feed yourself. BBQ starts early-mid afternoon usually.

Me and Larrikan will be at the Bridges cafe Windsor at 9.00am Friday before heading up to the Rally site.
So if you want to join in then Be there or Be square gees I haven't said that for 40 years must be too old.
Might lunch at the Grey Gums 1/2 way joint and have an easy day coz Thursday will be an 800k day for me.

I'll most likely see you at the Grey Gums then Rick. It's not that easy to park the sidecar/trailer on a busy street and the 3 four-legged passengers too.  At the Grey Gums we can let them run about a bit.

Last time I came to that part of Thunderbolts there were some small snow flakes and I was really glad I was in my car.

Just a quick heads up for those travelling in from the north:
The drought is becoming pretty serious on the tablelands and there is a lot of livestock using the "long paddock". On Thunderbolt's alone there have been 4 or 5 mobs of cattle between Uralla and Nowendoc for the past few months. Much entertainment for Bella of course, but keep your eyes open.

due to work , i'll be taking the most direct and fastest route to the rally. 
with time up my sleeve on sunday , it'll be the scenic route home.

I'm happy to go home to Greta via any route so will tag along.

He survived the night with Klompy with no serious after effects
