I have a friend who has deserted the K ranks and bought an R1150R and needs a set of good panniers for it and is quite willing to pay for a real good set along with the racks etc
If anybody in Australia knows of some she would be very grateful.

Just as a heads up, Rick, the R1150R will, fortunately, take the standard OEM R1100GS/R1150GS rack mounts (they're more square, plain) as well as the intended rack mounts which incorporate the small tail rack. I fit them to my '04 R1150R because I preferred the look of the lower profile GS mounts. They bolt right up, no mods needed. The factory panniers for those two models are identical, too.

Thanks mate that gives a good range to choose from, so should be a bit easier. I will pass that on.
I might be able to score her old K75c to convert to a chookie.

There's a fair whack of panniers on gumtree at the moment.
I'm sure I saw a vario topbox and mountings in there while browsing. Not sure what off though.

[edit]
Off an R1200 and it's in Perth Sad

She doesn't want a top box apparently it spoils the lines of the bike Rolling Eyes

That's why I went with the GS mounts without the (nearly useless) mini rack.

BTW, Rick, the plastic spacers (item 3 in the top image) in the parts catalogue illustration must be obtained to fit the GS mounts to the R, just like on the GS - same subframes on both bikes.

Cheers.

Rick, also have a look at the exhaust side full size pannier option with muffler lowering or deletion.
Search here: http://www.r1150r.net/
