Hi all!

Removing my fairing for some custom work. Had a hiccup when I get to the radio. All screws removed and it pulls out about a centimeter but it seems to be held in place at the bottom by something else. Any ideas on what could be holding me back?

Assuming you have an LT, there is a u-shaped removal tool that is inserted into the four holes in the radio faceplate.  After inserting the tool press outward on the tool and lift.  There is no need to remove any screws.

Very helpful! Thank you.

Now I'm trying to disconnect the wire from underneath the radio box. Any thoughts on how to get in there?

Is there enough free length to pull it up with the connector on? Maybe free off the cable before it goes into the fairing radio box. But you might need tank out of the way to access the wires of power and speaker wires are in the one connectir block.you prbably need someone who know the radio wiring. Have you made the tools yet? If you don't have the rods wire coat hangers can work a treat.

If it is the OEM Clarion radio/casette player, you can remove the radio together with mounting bracket as one unit (or the bracket alone)....then you get acces to the wiring.

At the front face of the bracket it's three small holes ~3mm dia. front, rear and outside...underneath each of these holes it's a locking clip.

Use a jewelers screwdriwer and push it into each of these holes to release the locking clip(s), then lift straight up.

I will give this a try.
