Hi

In the process of refitting K1100 TB's to my K100 I've refitted lots of parts, replaced the fuel tank and switched the ignition on to check various connections. The tank is completely empty and although the fuel warning lamps come on, I didn't hear the fuel pump. Is this a protective measure or have I got a dodgy pump?? It was working prior to strip down and although it was removed at the point I replaced the fuel filter I didn't do anything with it. I do have the connections the right way round (photos before and after).

Thanks

Fent

After you turned on the ignition you did hit the starter?

It will not fire up just with the switch on.  Tap the starter for 0.5 seconds and the pumps should run briefly.

Try not to run it without fuel present, they are very sensitive little creatures and will turn up their toes without any fuel there to cool and lubricate them.
