What gives me the shingles is that it's for "86 - 91", meaning my '85 is a no-go with it.

What is the difference, anyway?

they had different mounts I think, coinciding with the change in foot peg brackets

I bought a Mac system from Niche Cycles for a Honda a few years ago, it was a cheap exaust, and you get what you pay for, a cheap tinny sound.

Yes the footrest mounts changed in 86 but they are easily interchangeable if you grab a pair.

the only plus is that it might give you a chance to put a decent silencer on it ....after the collector

and maybe regain some performance ...that megaphone type end bit would make it a noise machine  rather than a performance machine ....but hey who am I kidding ....they like that stuff over there ...

Here's the early mount:

And here's the later mount:

Cheap new exhaust Latere10

The MAC exhaust is pretty basic, sounds allright (not loud), but at that price, it might make someone a good economy replacement or for a 'rat bike' you're wanting to lighten things up on a bit. The chrome is very average. Don't expect it to last like the stock unit. The newer foot pegs aren't always required if you can fab something up in the workshop, but the later pegs look far 'better' IMHO, and would make fitting the system to an earlier bike a good measure easier.

It may say from '86 to '91 but if you put a '91 RS in they tell you that it doesn't fit! I assume that is because the '89 to '91 RS is a 16 valve, I don't see why it would not fit. Why buy from a company who have not done their homework?
