Hey guys, I was cleaning multiple connectors last weekend and forgot to re-connect the throttle posistion sensor connector, I only noticed it when I got back from the ride. Well I went for a 3 hr ride this morning and the bike not only ran as well as ever but seem to run better a low speed in 1st gear.
So has my TPS been not working all this time or is it better to leave it un-connected ?
What is the TPS  really doing if the bike runs so well with out it?
Thanks,
Chris

It's been working. At low revs the tps causes the fuel to cut at the no throttle position and can cause some snatching problems in 1st and 2nd gear at slow speeds as the TPS turns on and off.
When you open the throttle you will hear a faint click from the TPS just as the throttle opens if you set it so that the click does not happen by turning the TPS backwards a very small amount you get the enrich at top end without the snatching at the bottom end.
There are quite a few threads on here about it.

Ah, just did the archive search and it works great!
For anyone trying to find out how to it try this,

"a much better solution is to adjust the tps so that it never hits the (closed position ) micro switch ...

that way you still have the "wot " (wide open throttle ) switch in place

just undo the screws a little and turn it anti clockwise ...just a bit till you hear the microswitch release .....whilst still throttle closed"
