Just pulled my front brake pads out to do a service and found one of the dust covers is missing.  How important is it to replace this? and if anyone has a spare can they contact me  Very Happy 89 BMW k100  Strange that this is the one part that was missing on my last motorcycle...

It must not be too important.  When I bought my 04 RT I thought it was missing the dust covers.  I went back to the dealer to ask and was told they don't have any like my 91 K100LT did.

The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.

I may be wrong but an 04 would have twin piston calipers, a totaly different design.

The Brembo covers are only about $4 or $5 from BMW

They are there more for looks than anything else. Possibly they stop some dust getting on the wheel.

Yes the 04 is twin piston but I fail to see how that fact would make any difference.

Be careful when buying/obtain the dust cover, as there are a couple of different designs that look very similar.
