Could be worse you could be earning NZ dollars like me and pay $845 for the reasets including freight plus ill have to pay 15% GST ((TAX)$126)PLUS ABOUT $70 IMPORT DUTIES.

Total cost will be $1040 unless I am lucky and it gets past customs.
I paid $1200 for the bike so I know how you feel.

Still------------ They are nice rearsets.

Saying that my race bike cost me $4000 and ended up owing me $17000

Give it 30 years and the rear sets won't cost much either

Not sure yet those are the sales photos.
I don't even know the size.
It better be big enough to fit something in.
It looks to be sitting on a standard bench top
That would make it about 6" wide.
I think 4.5" is a hardly size so maybe a Harley headlight lamp.

That headlamp could be very well be the 'signature' of your build. Rare, if not one-off status. Explore LED options, as there's a heluva lot these days.
Good find, Mossy.

Will do but here what even I get will need have to be E marked to be compliant.
A lot of whats for sale aftermarket isn't.

Maybe something like this 4.5 inch

That's cool. Looked at it on their site, reads 'D.O.T. compliant'. Synonymous with Euro compliance?

Cloistered I being of the mind that the D.O.T. was a sole US entity. Same name but I imagine far different standards.
Here in Gawd's Country you can get away with pretty much anything (providing you accept that it could provide an excuse for an officer to pull you over).

My bike is registration lapsed which means I need to register it as a new vehicle again with new plates and therefore it gets extra inspection.
A registered vehicle here left unused or unregistered for 12 months becomes lapsed and they plate is no longer active hence certification process is required.

Thanks. I just got lucky while looking for indicators on out local version of ebay.
Considering only 4 mill people in the country its unlikely one would ever come up again.
I guess UK ebay would be the most likely place to find one like it.

EDIT saying that I found another within a minute

Walked past the local charity store and what was in the window but a ally drink bottle.
$1.00 later and overflow sorted.
Made up and painted the lights bracket and added the indicators.
I ended up having to remove the original bolt mounts on the light.
Cut them flush and then drilled the stubs out.
Installed my own bolts through to the inside and used large flat washers.
Good tight fit now without the chance of the light moving about.

I think its becoming a bike again.

Been a little while.
Feel like not a lot to report.
The tail light I got came without e-marking so its in the bin.
I have ordered another light.
Have gone for a little round one that ill recess.
Battery on order and should be here in a couple of days.

The brake lines ordered almost a month ago and the trace number doesn't match ups, fedex or usps so wondering where they are. Not knowing a lot about usa mail is it possible the package has been sent but tracking not working?

Went for a ride today.
Stopped into a small local bike shop.
Walked out with a second hand gsx250 headlight for a few dollars.
The other headlights were nice but hey a few dollars, how could I say no.
Started making the battery leads up.
Using 16mm Aflex (like welding cable). Bit overkill but had an offcut at work.

Fitted lamp.

Go there and enter your tracking number in the two places provided. If it wasn't paid for (tracking) by the sender you won't be able to track it.

Got the bad boy going today.

Radiator leaks GRR Another K100 cafe racer. - Page 2 178468
I did notice early on when taking the fairings off it had a darker area so guess it started leaking before I got it. I assume its good news it still had anti freeze inside and was half full so im hoping it wasn't ridden with the leak. The previous owner hadn't ridden the bike for a couple of years before he sold it to me.

Found another cheap enough so its on its way.

Hey

Its looking good.
What have you done with you alternator warning light?

I replaced my speedo with an acewell and had to connect up a standard halogen light hidden away so the alternator would work (the led would not let current flow in to the alternator to get it working). A resistor would do the same job.

Also as your indicators are smaller you might get hyper flashing. You might want to do the relay mod while you have the tank off

Made a muffler bracket from a FZR1000W front axel. Bit of the old race bike for old times sake.

Ordered some mirrors.

Got the bike up and running now.
Very noisy even with the added muffler baffle but should be legal.

The throttle has a pause before response so assuming its running rich on idle.
I might get a probe up the pipe and adjust the air intake to suit.
I do remember fiddling with the adjustment while taking the airbox apart so would assume its no longer on its original setting and the pod will have changed a few things also.
Other than that its running very nicely.

Final brake coupling arrived so reassembled front brakes.

I went to Super Cheap Autos today and bought a one man brake bleed kit for $16.

Best purchase ever.

I had spent 2 hrs bleeding brakes last night thought I had it perfect.

Hooked the kit which goes onto both front brakes at same time. 1/4 turn open both nipples and pump brakes. Pumped about 200ml through and out came the crud and worst of all was 2 good size air bubbles that my efforts last night had not got.
Took about 10mins all up including working out how to assemble it.

Stuck it on the rear brakes on the zx14r also just for another trial. 5mins done.
Pet hate was brake bleed. Not now its one of the easiest jobs to do.

Installed mirrors also.

I got brake lines from oemcycles on ebay   http://stores.ebay.com/oemcycleshop?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

The brake bleeder was from a local auto store called Super Cheap Autos  (SCA).

http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/SCA-Brake-Clutch-Bleeder-One-Man.aspx?pid=291149#Cross

Its this one but also has 2 more sections of hose and a Y intersection to hook up both sides at the same time. they just haven't shown the extra pieces in the illustration

Some of the issue is my phone micro not liking the noise.
Its a bit deeper with the db killer out also.

Got the speedo and wheel sensor mounted up. I guess I am supposed to Glue the magnets into the hex holes. That will mean waiting until after wheels are powder coated. I guess I will need sort that out this weekend.

I bought some hex head bolts, drilled a stopped hole in the center of each and epoxyed a rare earth magnet into each hole.  I replaced six fasteners on the left side rotor with these home-built units.  Mine works great, and I can torque them using standard combination wrench or socket.

Nice. I have mine set on the disc fastening bolts but will lock wire through the head and use pick proof silicon that we use at work. It sets like JB weld.
I practiced on a bit at work and it seem to be good.

I took the wheels off today and will take them to the powder coaters tomorrow.
Going for a Saturn gloss black.

Made my own bead breaker as the bike shop was closed when finished work.

Like your bead breaker, I use a 6 inch bench vice with wood either side but less chance of damage to edge of rim with yours. What other improvised methods are there? John

"Very noisy even with the added muffler baffle but should be legal"

Have very similar exhaust on mine and is pretty loud. Also need compliance (when I get ABS working!) Look forward to seeing how you go

Nice job !

Xmas has arrived.

Having trouble with the brake lines though. I might need get one made up. The line goes into the caliper directly but I need a stock banjo head at the other end to take a rear switch.
