Hullo all. Finally diagnosed the fault. I would like a cooling fan for an 88 K100RS. If anyone has a working one sulking under the workbench I am happy to pay the going rate for one. Regards. Blacknails.

You can buy a new motor for not too much. Have a look on Ebay.

Bosch 130007027

Hi Blacknails,
I bought a new fan motor from EME in the states. Cost me around $100 AUD incl freight, which is probably similar to a second hand fan complete. Much better value in my book.

Regards,
Bill

I bought mine for about £70 (for the motor) from a UK site. Sure someone on here can tell you the part number and then just google it Smile i also had mine put on a switch in case the sensor wasnt working!

James Sherlock looks like they have both new and used in stock -  £142 for the new, give them a call and they will quote you for the used:
http://www.james-sherlock.co.uk/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.browse&category_id=245

as do motorworks - a used one for £45 (with 6 month warranty)
https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop/Parts.php?T=4&NU=10&M=40&Ct=HA

I have use both these UK companies and highly recommend them both.

Take a look at a Spal 6.5" fan, straight blades.
Easy to fab a mount and superior performance (oomph and quietness).

I have so far got through 3 replacement radiator fans on my K100 and K1100 - James Sherlock is the way to go for me - then again I am only 40 miles from him - not sure how much he charges for foreign shipping etc. but it does seem that many folks on here have sourced bits from him. Warning! He is a cantankerous old sod and can very easily wind you up the wrong way (AMHIK) but he always delivers swiftly - at least in the UK.
