Folks-
I do need to put a battery in the 1984 K100RS.  Which one?  The battery that came with the motorcycle is a Yuasa, and it is huge!  Is a smaller battery available?
The battery cover and hardware are missing as well.  Where should I find these parts?
Thanks!
John in Phoenix

JR-
Will the original battery hold-down hardware work with the physically smaller PC680 battery?
Thank you!

Yes it does John , the PC680 sits in the drop down section in the middle of the battery tray ( the battery can come with a metal heat shield remove that first ) next just flip over the hold down that goes across the top , I've had mine for over 5 years now , great battery with no acid spills etc

Im going to use a lithium battery.

Im not sure if 18 amp hour on a café racer would be enough.

It will have no auxiliary plugs and led tail light blinkers etc.

SHORAI LFX Lithium-Iron Powersports battery, 18Ah PbEq 12V eq, "A" polarity, Case Type 1
Length 5.83"
Width 2.63"
Height 4.13"

Shorai Batteries require a charging system output of 13.1 Volts or higher at idle, and must not exceed 15.2 volts at maximum output.

Whats everyone opinion on that as I want to place battery inside the tail hump.

I've seen mixed results with the PC680 batteries.  I've had 3 over the years.  One is absolutely amazing in its longevity (14 years now); one was a great disappointment and the other was only just satisfactory.  There seems to be reason to suspect quality control issues with these batteries. At present I have a Deka AGM battery in my K100RS (thanks EME!).  I doubt I'll ever buy another flooded-cell battery again.
