Several years ago..Crazy Frog made the K100 forum happen.
This costs money.
I contributed then and want to again.
How is it best done lately?
Thanks for hosting this site sir.

Yeah it's been a while and these things don't come free if you want a forum without adds.
So Bert step up and say what is needed and I'll do some arm twisting and get all and sundry to chuck some dinas, dollars or pounds in a bucket.

Happy to contribute also as I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved this last year or so.

Rosskko you understand that I am getting on a bit and can be slow on the uptake but I read your link and I didn't see how I could contribute - please help.

Cheers

maybe this was the part he was referring to,

Somebody suggested to create a silent auction to raise money in order to upgrade the forum.

This is a good idea, and I created a Paypal account for the forum.
If you want to send a small contribution, the forum Paypal account is: k100rtforum@gmail.com

If a few of us contribute, a $5 or $10 maximum, it will be sufficient to cover a full year of optional features.

something is on its way . thanks Bert for such a great site and to all who contribute and share.

Thanks to everybody.

One of the problem is that Forumotion doesn't accept Paypal anymore and I will have to register my European credit card to pay for the renewal. Forumotion is using Hipay (I never heard of them before) and it seems that all the transactions are made in Euros. I will still be able to use the Paypal money, but will have to transfer it to my visa account first.

I will also actively start to look for a private Web space where we can host the download page and where members would be able to upload files. I will use your donation for this too.

With such a success, I can see this forum lasting for ever.(103,000 posts is quite something)

I have not been very active this year because I had to deal with major personal problems. I had to travel 4 times in Europe to take care of my sick parents, but ultimately both died. This year, I basically didn't used my bikes because of lack of time (Maybe 5 or 6K max).
Now, everything is settling down, but the winter is coming and I will get more time to be reacquainted with the forum.

Cheers to all

CF

Sorry to hear of your loss. This time 2010 my Mam went to hospital and unfortunately passed away at the end of November 2010. I remember the time so much and it was a big loss. Losing ones parents closes a chapter in life and leaves a big void.

You have been very good with the forum and I know I speak for many when I say the forum and those we encounter through it has made a very positive change to our lives. This would not have happened without your hard work.

I remember your visit to Bikerboy and maybe if you are back this way you should take a visit to the Emerald Isle. Its a good time of your life to do it as there is some great scenery and a good bunch of K Eccentrics. If you pick a right time you would possibly get some good weather and a K to ride on. We are very easy to get to and there is a very good service to France. We would love to see you over this way.

Thanks to all for your kind words.
The majority of the members on this forum are older gents, and I am sure that few of us have the same worry/problems with our parents.

Was I ever dreaming about starting a forum with such a success? Honestly NO. The simplest rule set down to be respectful made the difference, and people liked it. This is what I think help us to develop friendship over the years.

About visiting the Emerald Isle, ..... why not.
I am planning another trip to Europe for next summer, but this time I will travel and may get you on your offer.

I am also looking about retirement and I am thinking about buying a bike in France and spend my winters there.
I think it's better to make sand castles on the beach rather than shoveling snow to get your car out of the driveway.

But..... I still have a pending invitation from the Ozzies too.

I guess I will be busy in (time left to retirement):

So sorry for your loss Bert.

I made a donation to the K100-forum since it's provided me with so much useful information and camaraderie over the years.  The members here are the MOST respectful of all the forums I frequent.  It's my way of giving back and I hope it continues.

Thanks Rob.

Don't worry, it will continue like that for years. If it was ever drifting away from this fundamental rule, I would shut down the forum. Believe me, respect has no room for negotiation.

Only been on here for half a day, but after reading the forum rules and now this post, I just felt compelled to chip-in, believing this forum will continue to be the way ALL forum's should be.

I guess I'm now one of the "older gents" you were referring to CF since I'm a brick-riding 57 year old 😜

I guess I'm now one of the "older gents" you were referring to CF since I'm a brick-riding 57 year old 😜
This is a great way to introduce yourself to other members. A big thanks from all of us.
Oh, and don't take Larrikin too seriously, this is what he rides and what he refers as his frame. He will never catch you Chipping in for the Forum 214585

Does this one come with 4 wheel drive? Is an air bag an option? I like the alloy wheels but not sure about the rear caster angle.

Am I an 'older gent' now? Don't they have them in barber shops?

Where is Becky? She needs to be back on the forum!

OOPS!

Blakey made a mistake on the Email address and I just modified his post.
Even if the address k100forum@gmail exist, it was not tied to the Paypal account.
I just added this address as a secondary one to the Paypal account and got the money from Squig60.  cheers

FYI:
The "official" forum address is k100rtforum@Gmail because when the forum started in March 2008, it had been registered as a k100rt forum. Since then, we purchased our domain name registered as K100-forum.

Thanks to all for your donation.

I spent part of my week end looking at options to 'upgrade' the forum with an upload/download feature, and I will soon start another thread to see what would be the member's choice and the solution that we will retain.

CF
