Hi,

Have an after market system on my 91 K100.  Will not pass compliance as its too loud Laughing

Have found a complete one online but is off an 83 model.

Anyone know if it would fit?

Cheers

Craig

You can put them on but the muffler mount requires some changes.

Welcome Craig , you could always stuff the can with chicken wire until you get your paper work then rip it out ?

This is a good solution albeit temporary. Here, in NZ, they are changing the decibel rating, going down to 90 as of next year. REAAALY wouldn't be wanting to own a Hardly these days, unless it was one that was as quiet as a beema (and then what was the point of getting a hardly ???)  . . . :-)))

Good idea's. Did once stuff a load of the wire wool pan cleaners down the pipe of the GSX750 to pass the WOF. Did pass although WOF man was giving me funny looks because it failed the day before !

Not done a compliance here in NZ but think it may be tight.... Seen somewhere on here that UK does not require the ABS to work on a two wheeled vehicle?  Not sure if its true here, great if not, but need to find out, anyone know?

Ok. ABS . . NZ compliance rules is this. Check your rego sticker. If it has ABS on it then you will have to have the ABS in good working order. If it does not then you are allowed to remove the ABS completely as long as all traces of the system is removed and the bike cannot easily be returned to having ABS.

I removed mine completely because the WOF guy said if it does not go either get it going or remove it.

At the time I did not want to bother tracing the faults source and actually opted out of ABS. Never had it for the previous 30 years, why bother now I said to myself. So it is gone.

BUT . .  if you can fix it get it fixed.

After having tried it, and looking back, removing mine was a mistake. It is worth it's weight in gold and then some

I have a good ABS brain free if you want it

The ABS ECU is different on a 8V than 16V, I'm not shure if you can just switch them.
