I purchased a new set of Road pilot 3 tyres for my K1100RS BMW motorcycle, based on advice and reviews. However, I have never experienced so much punctures in my life before.
The last straw was these last two weeks here in the west of Ireland. My journey started by removing and repairing a nail from the rear tyre. And in less than 100miles, an M8 treaded bar 70mm long with a locknut buried itself into the same tyre, now destroyed.
This is not a normal object to end up in a tyre, nor have ever seen it happen before.
The tyre has less that 3000Km on them, and I have now spent over 100euros repairing punctures.
I am thinking they are designed to attrack and pickup metal.

anyone else experiencing the same??

Well it wasn't me. Because I would be on BT45.

And, if I recall, you had a puncture causing you to miss our Father Ted Sunday Afternoon Tea.

What have I done? A spares bike with 2 fully inflated wheels on it.....I thought it was madness, now thinking a wisdom. Its worth it if you do a lot of riding as you do.

Hope you make our next outing too.

Yes , I missed tea, because of the same tyre. However the latiest happened just outside rossmuc WAW route, opposite a lovely auld dears house. Also its was the best day we had in weeks, blue skies, dry roads, and the lovely sea air. Anyway, she took pity on me and I was dragged into the house for a pile of tea, and she even broke out the Choc cookies:) If it had to happen , it happened in the right place.
Plus side, I am with Carol Nash insurance, so free breakdown recovery, and to my dis-believeve they picked up the bike in less than an hour, delivered back to the shed..atually maybe the bike just perfers the shed???hmm

Been down that road at Rosmuc, its nice in there and good thing is you cant get much speed up. But its frustrating. I wasn't joking about havinga second set ofwheels though, if you do a lot of miles there is no fear of the tyres aging and you will have a quick spare. I am planning to get the spares wheels stripped and recoated and then new tyres on them.

My RT loved the Michie Pilot Road 3 tyres so much she wore two sets out successfully and was rewarded with a fresh set of Pilot Road 4.

These are the best radial rain tyres I have ever ridden on and also make a fine dry road sports/touring tyre.

Punctures? Not a one.

Now the Metzeler Z8 Interact loves to ingest screws, nails, etc....

It's obviously a hemispere thing.

Its got to do with the hemispheres.

Have you noticed when you go to WA that when if you have a bath the water flows out the plug hole in the opposite direction? Or that your runner beans grow the opposite way around?.....

There's a place in Africa (and South America, Indonesia, etc.) where the equator runs right round and where local boys make a meagre living out of proving to travellers that the water does in fact spin the opposite way. For a few coins they'll show you a bucket with a hole in it, and urge you to watch the water go in one direction as it drains out, they then beckon you to follow them the few yards across the imagined line, filling the bucket again, to prove to you that it flows counter on the other side. (Of course it can be made to drain in any direction a hand directs it)

As for toilet bowls and the dribblings of politicians in either hemisphere, that's another matter.

The bananas in Western Australia bend the opposite direction to the bananas grown in Queensland so being on opposite side of a continent has a bearing as well.

G'day Reg , I've got PR3's on my KRS , they have been on for 15 months or so , no punctures , only issue is the tyre noise from the front one ( 38 psi before anyone queries ) , great grip etc but I probably won't get another set , looking at Pirelli Angel GT's at TWB suggestion
