I have not been about because of a move to Kent to be closer to the family. I have regretted the move as I have been brow beaten to give up m/cycling. At 87 I have relunctantly agreed...for now.
I have sold all my bikes the last k100 to a belgian who was over the moon.  The bug is still there so I wonder.
Did you ever find out what became of that chap on the K100 Forum who divided his time between England and Bavaria? Used to buy and sell bikes/parts on ebay to finance his bike-building projects. Also always had "open-house" in Bavaria for anyone passing through or attending his famous pig barbecue. He built AC Cobras in England too and Carol Shelby was a friend of his.
I will be visiting more now I am settled in at Canterbury.
                                                       Cheers to all,
                                                                           Ajays

Lovely to hear from you Ajays. I hope you made the Missus sell the Bloodstock too ! Empty stable on both sides seems more equitable, although wait "If Momma ain't happy. Ain't nobody happy", Maybe I need to rethink that one!

Can't help with the ID of that member. The name doesn't come to mind. Someone else will be along.

Take care,
Will

Hi Ajays,
I'm not much help as I haven't been around long enough.
Just thinking I was only cutting my first set of teeth and you were in your mid-20's
Still that being the case I would say hang in there, and you never know what might pop-up

I will check with my brother, who was in the UK and into motor-racing and he might be able to help.

all the best
Rod

Hi Ya Ajays good to hear from you.
Not sure if you know of the Ulysses club but it is a motorcycle club for over 40s with a very much social aspect and the No 1 member who only passed recently once said to me that his had been at him to give up riding so he bought a scooter and they thought that was great but they didn't know it was a 650 Bergman and when they found out he just in his words " I told em to get stuffed and bought a new Kawasaki 650 and gave em somethin to carry on about" apparently they never said another word.
My advice is to go buy a K100 that needs a bit of work and keep tinkering with it and keep them wondering.

Good to see you back...maybe us Eccentrics should be taking ourselves for a visit to your place....

On a serious note the advice to get a K to work on and tinker with may be the best.

My grandad played a funny one with my uncle who raced Nortons when he was young. Mu uncle had an Atlas and at some point it became a bone of contention in his house. So he down sized to a Honda 50 to everyone's relief. What none of us knew was that the Atlas was rehomed in my grandfathers garage. My uncle on a fine day would be urged to hop on his Honda 50 and ride over to see my grandparents. After the dutiful cup of tea the Atlas was taken for its regular burn out run and then returned back under the white sheets that concealed it from prying eyes. Even better is that one of my grandfathers neighbours took over 'storing' it after my grandparents died. None of us were in on the story at the time for obvious reasons and we were never allowed near the garage or the white cover. One day when I was over on my own bike I did spot motorcycle tyre marks on his drive that didn't look consistent with a Honda 50. I was struggling to reconcile a TT100 tread pattern with a Honda 50, it just made no sense at the time. Only got the true story not so long ago, after my uncle died.

My granddad loved tinkering and it was he who kept the bike in fine fettle and good order and loved to do little jobs to it, fire it up and have it ready for its outings. I think it was one of his last little secrets that really kept him going while he took care of my grandmother. His focus was to have the bike sorted and ready to go. Even when he couldn't drive his car he would get petrol for the bike to have it full.

I didn't realise you had hit 87, a great achievement and a lot of stories to tell. Stay with the forum too, its people like yourself that put the fun side on it. Working on a K now would do wonders for you time management and give you things to look forward to as well as make real use of the skills and what is very clearly an ultra sharp mind!

Sweet. When you get a fine day in England it truly is a fine day. I lived there for over a year and then again for nine months (Devon) and saw the sun maybe a dozen times.

Of course, my minders didn't let me out of my cage all that much.
