My Son In Law has got Gertie back on the road again. As he only wants to use her for a hobby, he doesn't need all the panniers, topbox, radios etc, Gertie almost looks naked without all the gear. there was no problems with the road worthy certificate.

I see in the images that you've got the four Queensland shed requisites covered: Barbed Wire, a fridge, tunes, and motorbikes.

Fortunately there's not much need for that stuff over this part of the world any more. People no longer know what the stuff is.

Its great to see her back on the road.

I suppose SIL wants on the waiting list for a VIP trip to 'Meet the Eccentrics'.........

It's actually quite crappy beer, sort of like an American-style Bud, Miller, Coors, Schlitz and that ilk. But the flag on the wall went well along the lines of the joke - XXXX, hence the nickname, barbed wire.

Off track, of course, but my favourite Aussie drop would have to be Cooper's from South Australia, a family-owned brewery since the 1860s. The majority of Aussie breweries are now conglomerate, multinational-owned and the soul has left the building in many of those other brands. While it can't boast a roasty malty lovely Guinness-like drop (their extra stout is OK) it has a fair variety of flavours and styles to please nearly any beer drinker. They're also the largest manufacturer of homebrewing equipment in the world!

There are quite a few boutique breweries around in Oz these days producing some top quality ales. Little Creatures, Montieth's and others. I particularly like the Coopers Pale Ale which you can get on tap these days.
On a hot, balmy Ozzie summer afternoon, there's nothing like a good IPA or Pale Ale. I won't touch XXXX or any of the other 'conglomerate' beers.

.... oh yeah! Gertie is looking particulary perdy in those pics. Very Happy Thanks for sharing.
