It's a 1985 K100 and when I bought it many years ago it looked like this...

After a year I fitted a real BMW RT fairing, and in this guise I used it to commute 90 motorway miles a day

And now I have retired and only use it for fun it now looks like this, a K100/2

Personally I think it looks OK in it's latest guise, and as I no longer use motorways, well not much, it's just feels great to ride.

Hi Steve and welcome,

Looking good.
Is that the same engine painted black? as it is amazing how different it looks.

Regards,

Phil

It was from a kit where they supplied the foam and the new cover, and you used the same base.

First of all thank you for the welcome and all of your comments.

The drive train and suspension are as original, I just rubbed the alli down, then used Hammerite smooth undercoat and topcoat...

I really love riding this bike naked, er riding this naked bike, it handles so much better and it's great feeling the force of the wind.

The vast majority of my riding is now done during the summer and below 60 mph so it's far better for me.

Yeah, I wish there'd be an easy to clip on 'n' off fairing...
