Just bought a Motobatt MBTX30U which should arrive tomorrow. It has an additional 10mm in height to my old bat which fits with just a couple of mm to spare. With the battery holder in place I think it's going to be a very tight fit up under the ECU compartment. I know some have used this battery so how has the fit worked out?

Bought the bat from http://www.batterybusiness.com.au/ in Warriewood Sydney. I called direct and spoke to Clive the owner. Great customer service. Within ½ hour it was on a truck and should be on my doorstep in the morning. The best part is his price is super competitive. $190 including delivery.

You will find the long screws are a tad short so I used 2 bits of booker rod and lock nutted it to the tray then got a second coolant bottle hold down rubber thingy and glued it to the existing one and all was good.

On the outfit I made a new battery strap from 1/8" alloy plate, stepped at the ends to retain the normal length bolts and leaving the 'coolant bottle hold down rubber thing' in it's usual position.

On the solo I turned two threaded pillars that I lock-tighted into the original battery holder base plate and turned a plastic extension for the 'coolant......etc.......thing'.

Paul.

Rick. I believe the correct technical term is 'thingy'.... but correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. Both good options. My battery hasn't arrived yet. Was really hoping to get it in for the weekend. Will sort something out after I see it in place.
