A smile like

It felt so good to run some familiar roads round the neighbourhood on the ol' girl, the engine pulling hard to redline (after a coupla idle 'til the fan comes on sessions) though the forks felt soft and the front tyre needs to be replaced soon.
We could meet later in the week so you can pick up those valve shims from me and the temp will drop from the humid 33 it is to a more reasonable 27.

Sounds good to me. Are you going south in the next few days, could do the same as last time.
It has been hot here and very humid which is unusual but dropped to 25 today and still humid.

Nuh, I'm sticking round Logan Village (Pamela arrives next Sunday) until the 14th. I've got time for some burbles SE Queensland and beyond.

What say the cafe at Queen Mary falls, it's a good ride for you and as my bike is still in bits waiting some fork bushes I will be in the 4 wheel heap.

Yeah, Chazza, stop in over the weekend if you've time. Maybe we can round up TacKler and do a burn on the best roads Saturday morning.
I've just swapped the inner pannier case for a new one, dropping the fluids tomorrow, a few minor tweaks and she'll be ready to roll.
I look forward to an extended run.

Any chance of numbers who might be crashing (um er camping) at RT's nicely mown camp grounds? on Thursday.
Just need to organise if I need to feed my dogs that night.
The weather is panning out slightly cooler, low 20's so the whole trip looks pleasant.

Just to throw a spanner in the works: my brother and his wife are on for a ride next weekend as well. They're from Leeton and will meet me in Tumut on the Friday evening. They don't ride a BMW either so I will understand if we're not " appropriately attired" for the event. Perhaps we'll just pass through Jindabyne and say hello if anyone's about and continue towards Tintaldra or somewhere. As I only get to see them once or twice a year usually, I can't pass up the opportunity.

Hi all,
Cost of each night camping is about $162, though that might vary if we include Waz's site. I didn't anticipate the need for power. There may also be some adjustment for numbers, as the price per site is based on up to 2 people. 6 sites plus Waz's powered site are booked. With some spare ground between sites, there should be enough room.
We'll divvy it up at the time, based on campers for each night, though my estimate of not exceeding $20 per person per night should still hold good.
In stock for breakfast etc is cereal, UHT milk, sugar, crackers, jam, vegemite, peanut butter and honey as well as paper napkins, coffee, tea. Bread, more milk, bacon & eggs if required can be bought at Jindy.
Cost to campers = $0. Me returning the favour for hospitality and welcome received.
Suggested route plan to come, but subject to modification/veto by the Krew on the ground.

Thanks for the commitment you've put into this Bill.
Sounds very reasonable. Cash on the day OK?
I assume the sites will accommodate the bikes and tents and some members have trailers/sidecars.
Just did a count and by my reckoning we'll have 18 or 19 bikes/tents to accommodate.
I'm sure we'd all like to contribute to bacon and eggs for breakfast
.

Route plan as it stands is Here.
Tom and I scouted the route from Jindy to Cabramurra a few weeks ago, and it is good riding. We didn't do the full circle, as Tom went searching for kangaroos along Blowering Dam.
As stated, travel can be either direction, and can be varied according to the whim of the Krew on site. As shown, 4h30m on road according to Google, plus rest stops. Possible easy variations include a side trip to Corryong, via Cooma instead of Middlingbank or wherever your fancy takes you.
As I write, the boat is on its way to Cooma for delivery on site next Friday. Included is a pair of skis, wakeboard, 2 tow tubes, extra firewood, pizza peel and brekky supplies. Also the plank for the Kaptain. Sunscreen also.
One thing to consider is whether we stop for anything between Jindabyne and Khancoban. If that part is straight through, there is no Kosciuszko National Park entry fee. If there is a stop planned along that part of the route, we have to pay the fee. ($7 per motorcycle, $12 in winter) There are some nice rest areas and lookouts along the way. As ever, to be decided by the Krew.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Bill

Hey Bill is this thursday or friday or saturday? I'm confused.
Anyway, my plans are to be around Cooma by lunchtime friday, going on to Jindabyne in the arvo. Does this fit in with anyone else?
I'll leave earlyish sunday morning and head west to Henty to visit my sister who has been crook, then go north.

I thought you might have, Waz. If we need to expand, (likely by Nigel's count) and you are agreeable, a sublet tenant and an adjustment to you would be a fair thing.Waz wrote:Hello Bill

Most are arriving Friday, some together and some separately. The run as shown is planned for Saturday. Group or separate travel home on Sunday for most, if not all. Pizza, riding, boating etc fitting within this window.
I lived in Henty as a child for a few years. Is your sister a long term local or a blow-in as I was?

All going well for the ride down on Saturday , I should be in Jindy by Noon .
During last weekends light jaunt with Warren C from Singleton to Dungog , it was quite noticeable the RMS is overdue for servicing .
The clutch was slipping on any heavy acceleration , especially out of the corners and bends, leaving me straggling well behind during most of the ride .
otherwise handles fine under moderate throttle.
So I'll apologise for any lack of enthusiasm on the loop around Kosciuszko, though time permitting I hope to share a brief ride from Jindy to /from Khancoban with some of the Krew.
The biggest challenge on the weekend will be to ascend the summit to the Kozzie Kairn , to unleash the latest projeKt.

Wow! This is bigger than Ben Hur!! Anyway...ref: The Hunter Krew and others. I've sent a PM to Smithy, Bro Tom, Gaz, Tackler and Rick G re: the meet-up on Thursday morning.
GAZ: If we could meet with you at the Millfield General Store at 09:15 (ish) that would be a shade better than perfect. Others are meeting at the intersection of George Booth drive and Richmond Vale road at 08:30 on the Thursday. The planned route, from Millfield, is Wollombi, Kulnura (for the dreaded loffee) then down the hill to the Hawkesbury River to Wisemans ferry. Then the Northern Road and maybe Thirlmere, Colo Tops(?) and then the back road to RT's joint. I'll probably get lost again but hopefully, with the numbers in the group, there will be somebody who knows where they're going!
RT: Onions!!! (and BEER) Costs to be reimbursed on the night.
Cheers, Rickmeister.

I may have thrown a spanner in the works here and invited a non-forum member along. A certain chap riding a Super Tenere was at Karuah and expressed an interest in attending. He was briefly at our campsite and admitted being a former owner of two K100RS.
I hope this meets with the Krew's approval.

We stayed at Tom's place in Newy last night. A slight sprinkle of rain as we left but that was it. After kolllecting a few stragglers we lunched at the Wisemans Ferry pub. Eventually Tom's Mob of eight arrived at RT's place. A bit of vandalism as we engraved our names in the table waiting for a feed.
