Hi guys

You will remember the €1 k75,
well it has a few issues and my mate is going through them one by one.
The latest one is the headlight won't light up, the parking light is OK and the extra light fitted to the fairing above the headlight is working and the headlight flasher is working ,so changed the bulb and issue is still the same. Any ideas gratefully received.
Cheers

Pat

G'day Pat.

I've split this topic as the information about your friend's no-headlight condition will get lost under the original "Which battery" topic.

I'd start by checking for power starting at the bulb and working your way back to the handlebar switch.

You may find the headlight's on/off switch may need a good clean.

Use the search function to see previous post's fixing and cleaning of the switch.

Let us know how you go.

Hi Blakey

The bike starts, it's the headlight not working

I'm with Blakey. My bet is also the high/low switch - the high beam contact is either covered in a thin film of melted plastic or heat produced by the current has caused it to recess in the plastic holder. Seen both problems.

How many miles/km?

Usual suspect is the headlight switch as mentioned above.

Though a replacement left combo switch is the usual solution, there is a workaround with a relay that can be done to fix this. (long story but I had a HL switch go bad and needed to come up with a quick solution)

I wonder if the headlight bulb housing connector is burnt on the low beam, was the H4 that you removed a high wattage unit or a stock unit, flasher means high beam works but so far I only get that low main beam is a dud?
