Anyone change these?
I see no allen, phillips or slotted with which to remove the retaining pin.
Manuals show an allen screw.
This is all in reference to removing the pins that hold the two pads on each disc of the front wheel.
????????????????????

One puts duct tape on the calliper to protect the wheel rim paint finish, removes the correct Allen screws (not the ones which clamp the two halves together DAMHIK) and then fully compresses the pistons back into the calliper which allows the calliper to be wiggles and rotated out off the disk. Then remove the spring clip and drive the retaining pin out of the calliper, the pads come out and can be replaced. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Don't forget to watch out that the fluid does not overflow out the reservoir on the bars, if you are doubtful suck most of the fluid out the master first and don't forget to refill with new when you replace the pads. It's a good time to change the fluid anyway.

Thanks K Bike. The part about
"Then remove the spring clip and drive the retaining pin out of the calliper, the pads come out and can be replaced. "
is what I needed to know. That is how it looked to me, but was a bit leary of just starting in with a punch on the retaining pins till I was sure.

Once you have them out give them a good buff to remove dirt and any stray corrosion and that is one place where the merest of smears of silicone possibly give the pin and clip a spray with silicone spray whilst they are out and just a smear on a cotton bud of anti seize in the hole in the calliper so as to prevent the electrolysis gremlins attacking the pin and calliper. If you have any the ideal thing instead of the silicone to coat the pin with is Dow Corning MolyKote aerosol MOS2 which goes on as a very fine coat which bonds to the metal and heat cures it in place. Needless to say that is applied to the pin out of the calliper Very Happy

K-Bike, the corrosion you speak of is the same stuff in the same area that Ned showed in his photos of his calipers?

I am talking of between the pin and the calliper body due to different metals.
