I bought a new crank case gasket recently and I'm planning to install it. I realized the cooling hose is attached to it. Is there some type of gasket or something I don't see in the clymer manual that I will need?
I did use the search function, didn't find anything specifically referring to this gasket replacement

No. There's no gaskets there. It's just a hose passing through the cover.

Just so you know, there is no need to remove the lower radiator pipe from the crankcase housing. Its a little difficult getting it thru. Just undo the hose clamps top and bottom and it comes off with the cover.

Chris Harris on his Youtube channel explains how to refit the engine side covers in one of his videos. Its not complex but you need to clean all surfaces and remove any pooling oil from just inside the engine. Any oil that gets on the mating surfaces can promote leaking. I degrease the rubber gasket and wash with water then air dry. The metal surfaces I clean with brake cleaner.

You'll need the smallest amount of RTV silicon across the timing chain cover joint, top and bottom at the front.

The cover bolts don't need a lot of torque. Check the rubber gromets for cracks.

Cheers
