Hey All,

Super new to K-Bikes and I searched around for a while, but couldn't find any directly helpful information on this.

I'm looking to go fairing-less (surprise, surprise) and so I want to switch to a round headlight. Are there options out there that are plug and play with the current harness or do I have to splice the wiring? Am I over analyzing this and is splicing the wires a piece of cake and that's why no one talks much about it?

As a side note, I'd love to get a headlight that is brighter than stock, but doesn't require extra relays... unless that's a dream and I should purchase relays regardless.

Thanks for any help in advance,
Shane

Thanks, Duck.

I've actually seen that already, but it doesn't talk about the wiring or anything...

Hi Shaner, I have done a couple of these swaps and no additional wiring is needed unless you want to fit relays. The 3 pin headlight plug should go straight into the back of the sealed beam or whatever type of replacement headlight you have and the horn and indicator wires should connect to the original horn/indicators which will most likely have been refitted in a new location. Good luck Cheers Tom

It's recommended to install relays. At 25+ years old we're seeing the light switch contacts burning right out. If your switch is still working then install a relay to preserve what's left. I just bought a plug 'n play relay harness off ebay for a car for around $15. Quality seemed ok. Its been working fine but time will tell I guess.

Headlight connection for the K is an H4

Hey Rawd.
This is the same as the one I bought earlier this year but a few dollars cheaper. Its for a car so the wiring might be a little long. Just splice a piece out of it. I tucked the extra H4 plug and wiring out of the way as I figured it may be useful to connect spots, but you could terminate that if you want. I don't think the cable conduit is necessary for our purpose so I removed that and makes it less bulky for routing under the tank. You'll notice it has ceramic H4 connectors. I'm not too sure about the wisdom of using an inline fuse but that could be easily removed.

The build quality seems ok to me. I don't know how they do it for the price with free delivery.
Cheers Mate sunny

Cheers Nigel.
Ordered! Now you must hold me to installation and we can have a west coast trial in parallel with East Coast test. You know about my inertia mountain! My round headlight on the 75 is STILL rotated by 90 degrees giving me a vertical band of light instead of a horizontal one.....
