Hello again chaps;
You may remember some discussion about RossKKo's bike and its sale.
I have recently been asked to make it happen and I am happy to comply so wanted to run the idea of a group working bee on the bike so it presents its best side.

I do have a few ideas but basically its a clean and lube , tune, pretty up and sell her to an appropriate recipient.
I will be picking her up and her previous full suit of Police armour and combined with some of the parts still here should be able to present a very attractive package.

Of course if you cannot come over at a yet to be organised time please make suggestions for her improvement...as a reminder she looks like this.




I have some white wheels and can put the knobbies on those wheels thoughts...any variations on the theme are doable...anyhow looking forward to helping out.

KKlompy , given the current state of the Far Kairn , might this provide an opportune time to start on the " 86BMW". 
Also is there any advantage to display it at the start or finish point of this years Distinguished Gentlemans Ride ,
 I know that Kaptain was looking at attending the Sydney event , any thoughts ?

Some ideas......
Swap the 3 spokes for knobblies, trim a rear guard down as in pics , swap the seat for the plank. Clip-ons anyone?
The current twin headlights look good .
Maybe some Cafe stickers

I am Ed. Although I don't know how my new ride will be received when we turn up in old fashioned full RT get-up. They seem to like the cafe bikes and other contemporary mods.
Anyway... should be a lot of fun.

KKlompy , what do you think of a sunday workshop , I'm staying Sunday night in Penrith ( as had been planned for the return from FCR).

It looks very nice the way it is, so what was it?

It was a 86 RT police bike many years ago...and is now on the way to being a very credible CAFE.
It now needs a good owner and it will be prettier once we have given her a tub and general tidy up....

I have RossKKo's bike in my 3 bike garage...fits nice and will start tomorrow...

Clearly she needs a good clean some bits fixed and refitted but she went great on the way home...the RT handlebars in a Nekkid bike was great until over 90KMH..comfy seat too...started first press of the button with all electrics working although clocks need a good clean up. Brakes feel great even the rear which had always been a bugger but a quick kit change pre BAE visit did the trick.

A good solid honest bike with years of pleasure left..now to find a suitable recipient.

You're doing a fantastic job there KKKlompy, she's now looking really shiny and tidy on the outside, and I already know that she runs really smoothly on the inside.

excellent work there KKKlompy , will you be riding "neKKid" in the Distinguished Gentlemans this weekend ?

She scrubbed up well KKKlompy. Have you identified any maintenance that needs attending to?
That muffler looks like it could do with a polish.... maybe a job for RT?? Are the lugs for the heat shield in tact?

Trying hard to get up there, school hols pin me down every time. (Dog sitting, don t get too worried for me).
6 dogs here this weekend if anyone wants a new fur coat.

Another lovely day tinkering with RossKKo's bike Alan Pennykid came round and we had a good old fashioned maintenance day. The old girl has had a complete suspension and brake check up handle bar adjustment, headlight adjustment, oil and filters changed a new seat which really suits her...next to sort that untidy exhaust and close in the side cover access. In order to present an excellent example of this bike with only 82K KM's for a newbie to the joys of BMW K100's...so will keep the price reasonable at $3000AUSD and the bike lives in Western Sydney although would be safe to ride to anywhere in Australia.




RT want to take the Zorst away for a holiday or am I good to black and chrome her?

Sadly at the moment I have no time to come over and do the right thing. If you want to proceed, I use 0000 steel wool and autosol metal polish first, then a cloth with autosol polish, then and good rub up with another cloth. Repeat until it's dinner time.
If the can comes off easily it can be done on a buffer machine. That's what I did my headers with but the danger is one of the headers breaks off at the muffler( ). 

What a god looking bike she is, pity it's a Rist Sore model. I'm too old for that stuff.

It's an ex-police RT parade/escort bike(the 2 holes in the front guard for the little flagpole tell me that).  Still has RT bars.  Quite comfortable.

Legend is the escort bikes were better bikes to buy as they weren't used as hard for pursuit work etc. Could be possible.

Had an excellent post service test ride to the Distinguished gentlemans ride at Sydney uni and then all over Sydney....she went excellently even in the rain at 110KMH...the knobby was fine...just need to do a few more things minor adjustments to idle and brake bleed and of course a few grub screws and allen bolts to fit/replace.
