Not a lot of action over here so I guess I will start a thread on my current repair work. Transmission grub screw is loose so it is time to do some maintenance.

A little history first, when I picked this up a couple of years ago I flew up to Minneapolis from Denver and rode it home. I had several years experience on hacks and a lot of long distance riding on my R1150GS/CSC Friendship II rig so I figured piece of cake. It turns out that the wheel bearings were shot and the pusher wheel had a leak in it that eventually stopped me in Denver so I had to throw it on the trailer and haul it the last 100 miles to home in Edwards.



At least the races are still intact but the balls are no longer balls they are ovals.

A little work and it was back on the road safely and a couple of good years riding, trip to L.A. for the Griffith Park shindig and it is time to get some serious maintenance done on it now.

OK, enough preamble and now down to the meat of this thread. I finally got her in the shop last Fall and started the teardown.





This is the aux fuel cell that sits in the sidecar frame under the tub. About 8 gallons and change.



And this is where it currently sits.

Just a little Back Story, I work for the ski company in Vail, CO so I am a little busy with work in the Winter and I own a house in Hotchkiss, CO where I keep the bikes and such so I cannot always get over there in the Winter and it has been cold when I do so the progress has been slow. Things are starting to warm up a little so I am hoping in the next week or two I can get the transmission off and see what else I need to deal with.

 I know all five of the shocks need rebuilt but since they are all the same old school Koni that should be no big deal. It leaks antifreeze and I am sure it needs the rear main seal and a clutch and I have a newer water pump so hopefully that should get me back on the road for a few more years and miles. Of course all regular maintenance on everything else that is in there while I have it apart. I also have a new 20 spline final drive and driveshaft to replace the 16 tooth units that came on the 1985 K100. Since this is my first Kbike I am sure there are probably other things that will need done but I will just have to deal with them as I go.
