Hello all

I stuffed up
When replacing the GPI i put the battery back in to test it working correctly

And because the bike has been on the work bench i had the battery on trickel charge

Knowing that the bike has turned over in a little while i thought might as well give it a turn over seeing that the battery just sitting in the bike

But i forgot to disconnect the the trickel charger

All light came on then something went pop
And all lights are gone

Dic
Sconnect the trickel charger and turn the switch i get nothing now

Thinking i have done a relay under the tank ?

All the fuse on the side are ok

Do you have any power at the battery? You may have fried it.

Matt if you have rounded out the hex in the screws that hold the disc on get a 5/16 drill bit and drill the head off the screw and the disc will come away. To get the remainder out try welding a piece of rod to the stub and the heat will often make the red Loctite let go or just use a fine heating tip and heat the stub of the screw and try a set of vicegrips on it.

Use a hammer and hit it hard, it should break the binding caused by the locking compound.

On those two screws giving it a good clout with a hammer does nothing (been there done it) as the Red Loctite is used and they need heat, about 130°C to melt the stuff and the screws will come out, then use some throttle body cleaner or acetone to get rid of the red stuff and use nothing just tighten the screws to finger tight.  They cant come lose because the wheel stops them coming out. Why the hell that red stuff was used I don't know.

Rather than welding a bit of rod to the stubs, try filing a couple of parallel flats to take a 6mm or 7mm spanner. Worked for me.

Well I fixed the first of my stuff up which a
Was the electrics
I pop open the starter relay and load shed relay to make sure that they were not weld shut and ok to operate
This seem to fixed the first problem

The second was the screws I have ended up breaking the screw after drilling the head off

Then drill a small hole to belt a torx bit into it
Ended up breaking the torx bit off at the neck inside the bolt inside the final drive

It a bit like the old nursery song

That just leaves spark erosion... at this point I suspect it's going to be cheaper to source a new drivebox.

In theory, yes. I've only ever put them in aluminium (cast and rolled/extruded).
