If you still have an original rear shock that is getting tired or starting to leak, there is a cheaper alternative to a complete new unit if you are watching the pennies.
Sherlocks of Devon, UK will sell you a brand new Bilstein damper unit for £85 to rebuild the original. Delivered to me in 24 hours!
Comes complete with instructions and takes about half an hour to do. Its a good idea to repaint the spring while its apart.
May not be as good as some of the more expensive units available, but you know, if you are on a limited budget or want to keep the original look, its not bad.

Good to know. Thanks for that Comberjohn. I like to keep my bike as stock as a rock.
