...and I've finally buggered my RamShok - yaaayy!!!

£35 for a full overhaul, £25 for a new spring ('coz mine doesn't have the slightest remains of paint or powdercoat left on it and the visible surface is a mass of rusty pits) and £12 to the government for the privilege of allowing Realm Engineering to fix it for me.

No argument with that.

Except the £12.

I guess 50k & 4 years is not too bad for a hard working shock...although by my rudimentary maths that only really equates to the shock piston having moved by a mere 85 miles (perhaps a few more given the additional punishment given by some of those Irish roads). The spring paint does seem to be an issue that Realm need to address - the one I sent back for refurb last year was also in a poor state. I put that down to the time that the bike spent in Dublins fair city (sgmayhew) and those salt laden cockles & mussels etc. but am not so sure. A decent paint coat should last considerably longer than a few years.

As for the government....if one of the parties in the forthcoming (s)election of the least worst vote had a manifesto pledge to make K bikes and parts VAT free, they would get my vote!
