I'm in the process of renovating my K100 engine and need the tool to fit new valve stem oil seals ( BMW 11 1 940). I can't find anywhere selling them after Googling for UK suppliers. Can anyone direct me towards a source or an alternative method?

I've always used a socket or a piece of tube of the correct diameter. Just had a look at my Haynes Manual and they show a socket in section 2.18. However AGA tools have a set for $990.00. Valve stem oil seal tool 25650

I used this tool set to do mine.  When I was done I sold them for $10.  I greased up the valve stem with assembly lube to help the seal slide down the shaft and lube the guide.  Worked a treat.

If you are a UK BMW Club member, we have the seal tool in the Tool Hire facility.

Thanks Mike......I have managed to fit the seals using a short section of tube. Fingers crossed that all is OK.
