Hello to all,
I thought I better join hopefully share some pics?

Since I sold my manufacturing company a few years ago I have been playing with bikes, mainly converting into cafe racers for fun. I did a K100 a while ago and, having had fun on such an improbable cafe bike I acquired a K1100LTIC to do a similar thing.

Shame to see that nice LT chopped but I have to say you've done a nice job. Its a well proportioned mod and tastefully done unlike many who just lose their way completely with the aesthetics.
What would finish this off nicely would be a radiator cowl.

The K1100 is a thoroughbred. Shame to knobble it. There will be quite a few here that would encourage you to get it out on the open road and ride it as is for a while. Your thoughts may change. The K1100RS is a particularly nice bike to ride.

I'm not sure why, but I'm not a fan of taking an old K-bike and chopping it up.  It just seems...wrong, at least to me.That being said, when I see pictures of a finished project like the OPs, it gives me a new appreciation for the R nine T. It may just be me, but these stripped down flying bricks bear a striking resemblance to the new kid on the Motorrad block.

Thanks for your kind words, I agree, if the bike(s) had been half decent then I may have just tidied them up, but as you can't see on the K100 all the fairings were broken and badly repaired....any good bits were had by people who wanted to save their dropped machines so, in a way, keeps more bricks on the road.

The 1100 is in a similar state but I will treat her kindly (try and post pics but not letting me yet)

Also, the 1100 is a LTIC, Luxury Tourer I understand, but (not that it matters as the fairings are coming off) what does IC mean?????anyone????

Where did you get the letters IC from? I've only heard of SEs. (Special Eidtion - fancy paint job with pinstripes and a couple of other things like shiny levers)

I have heard the Authorities models referred to as TIC but AFAIK it's not something that has come from BMW
