Looking forward to learning about the model K-bike. I've owned a 2003 K1200GT and 1993 R100GS. Now working on a 1989 K100RS SE. Not many technicians left in the Bay Area that work on these Flying Bricks anymore. Just as well, because I'd rather mess it up myself than pay someone else to mess it up for me!

Thanks!

John

Welcome!  I think you will enjoy working on your brick.  Once you get used to how it's all put together you'll find that working on it can be rather easy.

The SE is a really nice looking machine and worth a lot of effort to keep nice.

Welcome along John,

Its far more fun and rewarding fixing your own bike anyway - and most of us hereabouts have learnt not to trust the modern BMW mechanics. All the help you need, and more, is available here - free of charge.

Nice part of the world you live in too.

She's in good shape! Less than 30,000 miles, everything works! She comes with matching white hard cases. A few scrapes and cracks in the cowl. Idling rough, but I'll start troubleshooting that soon. Been reading up, here on the forum, on how to tackle the problem - vacuum leaks, sync TBs, spline lube, etc. I received a few parts/tools yesterday. Just now, got complements on her from the folks at work! Very cool...

You obviously lucked out and got the matching white cases - they look great.  I think I'll be hunting for a while...

Hey Gero,

I heard that brilliant minds think alike. Beautiful bike!

I hear the hard case are tough to paint, but can't be impossible. Even though mine are white, they don't match the pearl on the rest of the bike. I wouldn't mind getting them painted to match. Someday...
