The Tablelands ride this year will take us west for a night camping at Mount Kaputar.
Proposed dates 3rd to the 5th of November.
Camping and BBQ will be at our property Riverdale in Guyra on Friday night.
Saturday 4th will be ride day map here should be an easy day ride with a coffee stop at Inverell then a ride along the Copeton Dam road to Bingara for lunch then on to Kaputar summit via Narrabri.
Camping the night at Dawson's camping grounds here
We could seek pub accommodation in Narrabri instead of camping. Just another option that's open for discussion.

Your right Nigel I didn't think those dates out very well they will have to be changed.
I wont be going to the GP but I will be watching it on Sunday.
I'm now thinking the weekend from Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th of November, I'm also open to other suggestions.

did we forget ...mini tornado ?
a couple - few years ago 2013 ? , after traversing the Gibraltar range ... I had 3 bikes up my clacker heading through the fog ..and then heavy rain ....all the way into glenn,
ulli on the yellow peril and I stopped - camped at glenn while a hail event was going on ..under the shop awnings watching rather interesting cloud patterns over those southern hills
meanwhile some of you were traversing them hills I believe .

My vague plans at this stage , seeing as I managed to score a few days off , and I missed my Mums 70th .
A quick ride up to Moree on Friday. Returning to Narrabri on Saturday to meet the krew at Kaputar.
Sunday , I'll be riding north to Toowoomba and Brisbane for a couple of days visiting family .
Hope to take in some riding around Maleny/ Glasshouse Mtns , and Mt Lindsay to Kyogle ,
then down the coast stopping in at Griffiths Lookout and camping at Arakoon ( Trial Bay Gaol ).

Maybe we could try and get a special dispensation from Pope Bert

I'm hoping to have Sweet Thing ready in time for the Kaputar run. The refurbed Olins should be right to go next week but Chivo's is doing the front forks for me at the same time. If he finds nothing unusual when he pulls them apart, all will be good. But heavy steering and a pull to the right has me worried.

What is the plan for dinner at Mt. Kaputar on Saturday night (BYO?).
Will we be stopping at Sawn Rocks for a photo op on Saturday?

I'm not gunna make it after all. I dragged home some heavy crud in my lungs from Japan. Wacthed the Phillip Isalnd GP from the comfort of my bed, however. What a fantastic race that was! Best one all year, I reckon. No spoiler for those who haven't watched yet. Have a fine run, gents!

Open for discussion> Camping or pub accommodation on Saturday night?
Due to a personal injury that I have been recovering from I haven't been able to do a run to Kaputar to check the route time wise! Shouldn't be a problem according to google maps.
There is an option rather than camping at the summit and that's seeking pub accommodation in Narrabri, I've spoken to the Namoi hotel here and rooms are available on Saturday night 4/11 at reasonable rates.
This is probably a good idea if time or weather is a restraint, if this is the case we could run to the summit on Sunday morning. let me know what you think as would need numbers to book rooms.

Pub certainly has the convenience factor, so I'd be happy to do that. Also okay with alternatives, though taking cooking gear would complicate things.

I would have only been thinking of sausage sangers on Saturday night if camping, BBQ toilets showers ect at camp site.

We here in the Hunter have been doing more pubbing than camping over this last few months, very sociable, food on hand, less gear to carry.

I'm happy to go the pub but will bring tent if required.

Looking forward to catching up with all who make it.

Lads, As you guys know by now, my camping days are over. So I will definitely be staying in a pub at Narrabri. I've stayed at the Namoi many years ago (it's the purple one, I think, on the southern end of town)

I've mooted with Bro Tom and Gaz that we leave on Thursday, up Thunderbolts, down the Oxley and overnight at the Star Hotel at Macksville. Friday up to Bellingen, Dorrigo and thence to sunny Guyra.
