his might be a solution for inmates who wish to get away from the in tank mounted fuel pump. It would allow more scope for those wishing to pursue alternate and custom tanks. In general you can use any fuel pump externally. All you have to remember is that they are fuel-cooled, so running them without fuel will cause damage in a very short period of time.

In the ad it states frame mounted, there is a comprehensive list of the cars that it suits. However I'm not familiar with any of them, and I don't know whether any of them are externally mounted.

If it is meant to be external then the flow of fuel is sufficient to cool them but not if it is meant to be internally mounted.

I have to admit, Rick, that most of my experience comes from Guzzis and in usual Guzzi style they use the same pump in and out of the tanks. Somewhere in one of the service manuals is that comment about the pumps being fuel-cooled. Stupidly, I thought it was applicable more widely.
