36 31 7 653 064 is the BMW part number, but any 15mm-wide base rubber or metal valve stem will work on BMW Y-spoke and three spoke wheels. Real Oem and Max BMW online show them retailing for about $9.00 USD each. Motobins have them for £5.10 each Part No. 59999.
If they're not the rubber version then use Motobins part number 59980 for even less money.

For what it's worth, I finished up putting right-angled valves on the rim with the last tyre change. It makes it MUCH easier at the servo when checking tyre pressures!

Do not use the rubber pull through right angle ones. I had one split at the rim resulting in rapid air loss on the highway.
Regards Martin.

That is like saying do not buy a K100 because I had one break down! One split valve does not make a trend or an epidemic.

Actually, I mirrored Martin's experience so his is not an isolated case,  I had the mechanic fit pull-through right angle valves on my K75 rims and both failed at speed, albeit only slowly leaking air. I now only use all-metal short straight valves.

The ones that clamp in with the nut are far safer. The tyre supplier that replaced the stuffed front tyre had previously experienced problems with that type of valve and will no longer fit them. Definitely not an isolated case. The problem lies with inflating them. Pushing on the air supply eventually weakens the rubber were it goes through the rim, eventually causing a tear and failure. With the straight pull through ones you are pushing straight on and it is a lot less likely to tear the valve.
Regards Martin.

Now it's an epidemic. Laughing

The start of another tyre thread.

I don't use them either. Right angle valves that is.

I carry a BMW-supplied right angle tire valve that threads on temporarily. It's too heavy to leave on the wheel and isn't intended for that use anyway. It makes reaching in between the wheel spokes of various Beemers a helluva lot easier given the variety of air nozzles at servos. Part number 71 11 1...something or other. Also available from Amazonia the Destroyers for under $4 a set.

I would recommend valve change with every tire change. I had a valve dismantle itself while riding, fortunately it was the rear and all ended well. The brass valve fitting parted company with the rubber housing on my K1200RS resulting in rapid massive air loss, at speed.... It can, and does happen.
