Klompy, since you're got another horse in the stable to ride why not get your existing K1100 rear shock rebuilt.

Worth a phone call to RAD shock repairs in Brisbane before you decide, unless of course you are keen on spending a chunk of that pile of A$ you are sitting on Wink

I have run two RAD rebuilt OEM shocks and I have been happy with them. But maybe it's because I went from early 70's 80's Japanese bikes and don't know any better.  K1100 monoshock 44271

Thanks guys shall do. I suspect it’s just the spring has  weakened as there is no leakage on the shock itself. I know you can get the springs reset or even better can get progressive replacements. How hard is it to pull these apart to replace just the spring? If I had an old one laying about I would use that. The K100 version is about an inch shorter. Cheers Klompy

no leakage could mean that all that can come out already has Klompy

its what I see all too commonly

an inch shorter for a couple of weeks wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience

last few rebuilds from rad  for me were about $200 -210
