Hi, Ive been searching the web for a web site which will help me restore my K100rs 16V abs.
I think it's 1989/1990. I bought it around two weeks ago and slowly working on getting it back on the road. The tank has three largish holes and these need to be welded, I was told the bike was running up to a year ago and then started to cough and splutter. The ABS doesn't work and the fairing should be replaced. The instrument cluster has seen better days and if I can find one i'll probably replace this at some stage. The front master cylinder is missing the little fluid window.
I paid $500.00 AUS so I'm not to concerned about these issues. I will need help from the site members now and again when I can't find any posts.

Sven

WelKome. Yes, you came to the right place.

To get you started, here's some info on ABS.

http://www.kbikeparts.com/classickbikes.com/ckb.tech/0.ckb.tech.files/abs/abs.htm

The first thing I would do on a "tattered"  K100RS4V however is open up the ABS "brain."  If it looks like water has gotten into the circuitry then it's toast.

Welcome to the forum, Sven. Here you'll find what you're seeking as regards your new K bike. Post up the VIN (plus the model in your signature under "profile") and we'll be able to tell you what you should have, and it makes it easier for fellow members to identify what it is you're seeking if it's model-specific. If you wish to return the ABS to working order and find you need spares I have a complete ('brain', wiring loom, etc.) from a 1993 K1100RS ABS stored in a dry garage safe 'n' sound. I'll be back home in OZ by October.

Or do this: Click here> REAL OEM VIN Search
and search the VIN yourownbadself.

Hi Ya Sven welKome to our Knuthaus. Nurse will be along soon.
Tosi Tabuki in Japan knows more about the ABS units than Mr Bosch himself and his site has info that will befuddle the brain of the most intelligent emu

The small round fluid sight glass which is plastic is available from Motoworks in UK but I have made a small alloy plug with an O-ring which presses into the hole which saves heaps.

welcome aboard

have fun along the path ....excellent buying indeed , if you can turn a spanner or two

the learning curve is not too steep , but if there are multiple issues, may cloud the diagnosis .

good luck

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.
I can turn a spanner or two which will help set me up for success on getting the old girl back in shape.
Theres quite a lot of sun damage to the plastics and I've noticed the cold air intake to the air box has started to become brittle and the concertina section has lots of holes in them. Anyway it's a live project and something that will help keep me active during the winter months.

Again thanks for the welcome and the links to help me get underway.
