quick one kids. I just swapped tanks and had to refit the old pump to the new tank. Anyhow have two wires one brown one grey. I assume brown is earth but bmw does funny stuff like changing wire colours halfway through looms.

ive seen a few different tank to connector... to mine but the same connection location standard

unless someone has seen different ...best I can offer

So brown is earth then yes? Thanks Charlie assumed the pump would suck if wired backwards. Lol

Test it to be sure.  Ohmmeter between brown inside the tank and brown on the 4-pin connector.  If you get continuity, then great.  Try the same for your Grey wire inside the tank and the Green/White on the 4-pin connector.

Good morning all;
Good news the new tank with old pump new filter new hose is fitted and working great. As feedback the colours of the wires is Not important as the terminals are different sizes. How did I not notice that so boys and girls I found something fool proof in a K!!!  

Anyhow this dispels the rumor that all things brown are earth.
