Does anyone run their K100RT without the bottom half of the fairing? At 6'3 I find my knee hits it and wounding about doing away with it.

No problem to do it. I have left the bottom parts off while doing maintenance. Just make sure the top part is fully mounted on its brackets. You probably should remove the radiator surround as well as its supported in part by the two lower fairing panels.

yes , have the same issue, as do many

what seat do you have ? hope fully the comfort seat ?

but if leaving the bottoms off , please look at strengthening the lower fairing mounts that mount on the down tubes behind the radiator

the original  weak brackets do flex without the support of the lower fairings, so if it can be done  do it , or at least double up those brackets

cutting away some of the heat shield plastic between the uppers and tank at the rear end also helps .but don't forget to install some decent insulating rubber surround stuff to eliminate any sharp edges

good luck
