Hello All and a special hello to everyone down under.
Well it is a long story but sadly my old K100 had to go as it became too unreliable for the 1 hour commute to Sydney everyday.  She went to a café racer and I don't know where after that.  I rode a Suzuki GSX750F for a couple of years and pretty much wore that out before resorting in the end to a car pool.  I've been tarting up an old Yammie 1995 xj600s which I use now and again but haven't trusted it past 100km rides so far.  I've been spending about $40 a month on bits and bobs getting her ship shape and she's nice enough but quite tired.  However last week I saw a K75rt on Gumtree for a $2500.  She was at Surfside motorcycles in Brookvale- she has been dropped and lost her fairing and has a dint in the tank, but talked to Peter the owner of the shop-nice bloke- and was reassured that she is still a good bike - so I had a massive brain fart and put down a deposit.  I'm very excited and cannot wait to get my arse on her seat.  Fingers crossed that she's a keeper - I would never normally buy unseen but I could not resist.  Wife bemused but not hostile - and for the first time ever I have a bike collection!.  I'm still in Copacabana and would love to catch up with anybody nearby for a ride sometime. Yee hah - and all the best Ed

Welcome!  The lack of a fairing is not a major drawback.  Some of the inmates run without the lower parts in the heat of summer.  Any other RT bits can be fairly common as the cafe crowd hacks up good bikes.

As far as running issues, the inmates here have a fairly good track record at helping to get bikes running properly.

Hello thanks for the welcome- I have taken delivery of the little red brick and she's great. She stressed me out to start off with because the ABS light was flashing and the thing was steering like a wheebarrow crossed with a Toyota Camry! Sooo I charged the battery and put 20 lbs in the front tyre and all is well. Thank goodness I am now calming down. I blew my money on the bike because she was a bargain and it was my big chance to get back on a k-bike but I have to get new tyres front and back.but for minimum outlay- so men + women any suggestions for suitable tyres to get me on the road for few months at least here in Oz? Thankyouse all.

The next K bike in my shed will be a K75. I haven't owned one (that I kept to ride) since the Summer of 2007.
